you'll get use to it
Come on in
Water feels great
The familiarity of the pool
The natural movement of the waves
Care for your body
A routine
A rhythm
Pumping blood to every limb
Is harmonious
That is
Until you step out
When the body is forced to change
The absence of water
Puts your mind in distress
You feel abandoned
From the calming motion
Sent into chaos
But your body adapts
Once again
Placing itself back...
I find comfort in cages. The enclosed space gives me the comfort of proximity; the kind given by a loved one before their last goodbye. The warm steel bars give sight structure. The guidelines added to objects create focus on details once missed. Juvenile sky-patterned wallpaper transforms into dozens of shapely clouds giving resemblance to familiar faces. I am not being kept hostage from the rest...

haiku #55.
thedustdancestoo:
plant me in your mind.
i want to take root, and drink
deeply from your thoughts
fear of walking the plank
Standing on a plank
With years of swords at the stern
Increasing their number by hours
Wasted watching the clouds roll
Through a calm reflection
Of the frenzied sea.
The water’s predatory jury
Filled with grey peering eyes
Through familiar, slippery, and knotted hands
Is hung by false mentalities of the past,
Deciding death without alibi or plea,
Digging a grave without a lonely headstone

living understanding
I want the sight to see.
Let me peek beyond what is here and now;
Into what is there and next.
I want the curiosity to explore.
Finding the life in all that breathes,
Once drew breath,
And forever lies still.
I want the insight to discover.
With an open-minded focus on the unfamiliar,
that brings the ability to venture the uncharted.
I want to live.

i am so exhausted
from lying in bed thinking
about how amazing
we would be together.
Admit it. You're the 'advice giver' to a...
I hear the thunder
but all I can see is us,
rolling in the sheets.

For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only...
we're brave together.
thedustdancestoo:
at the end of the sidewalk
we found a door
sketched in blue chalk
and slightly crooked.
we didn’t know where
it would take us,
what worlds we would find,
or if we’d ever come back,
but that didn’t matter.
we were ready.
our hearts had bravery,
our pockets had bubblegum,
and our hands had each other.
so on skinned knees
and chalky hands
we opened it,
never...
I think maybe love
is just the realization
that your heart is theirs.

Patience Heals (Destruction)
courtlynnhawkins:
heartbreak, nature’s bleach it crumples you like plastic in a masquerade of typhoid sickening destruction waiting ready-made pies for eating awful, sick, cruel despair
you sit alone in most places waiting for the world to turn like a firework on Fourth of July
